The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of Huambo (FCA) in partnership with the Ondjyla Foundation and the Center for Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship in Angola, had the Scientific Research Project “Optimization of phosphate fertilization in the region of Huambo Province” approved and financed by the AfDB and the Government of Angola, which will allow, in the first place, to characterize some of the region's soils and enhance future research work under the triad of culture x soil x fertilizer , assessing the economic viability and sustainability in the predominant crops in the region - beans, corn and potatoes.
It will also boost the training of FCA researchers and technicians in this specific area of soil analysis, enhancing their knowledge for future soil fertility recommendations to the agricultural community.
